Materials

Paper and board are the base of almost everything we make, and paper is the part of packaging that recycles most reliably. We work in E-flute corrugated board, kraft and white board, 350 gsm folding carton and rigid board, and we can supply FSC® certified stock across the range. FSC® certification means the fibre is traceable to responsibly managed forests, and it is a claim we can only make on stock that actually carries it, so ask for it when you order rather than assuming it.

Inks and coatings

We print with water-based inks. They avoid the solvent emissions of older systems and they leave the board easier to repulp at the end of its life. Some decorative finishes behave differently: plastic film lamination, whether matt, gloss or soft-touch, makes a box harder to recycle. If recyclability matters more to you than the feel of the surface, we will steer you towards uncoated board, a water-based varnish, or hot foil and blind emboss, which add impact without laminating the whole sheet.

Plastic-free and recyclable options

  • Paper tape instead of plastic tape, printed or plain.
  • Tissue paper and paper void fill instead of bubble wrap and plastic pillows.
  • Self-locking mailers that seal without tape at all.
  • Uncoated kraft and white board, which goes into household paper recycling in Qatar without separation.

Right-sizing

The most useful thing we do for a customer's footprint is usually not a material swap. It is getting the box size right. An oversized carton ships air, needs more void fill, costs more per shipment and takes more space on the vehicle. Send us the dimensions of what you actually pack and we will draw a dieline around it, free of charge, in the closest size the tooling allows. Smaller boxes mean fewer pallets, fewer trips and a lower bill.

What we do not claim

We are a printer, not a certification body. We do not describe our packaging as carbon neutral, we do not sell offsets, and we do not call a laminated box recyclable because the board underneath it is. We will tell you plainly which choices in your specification help and which are decorative. If a claim is going to be printed on your packaging, we will ask you to substantiate it before we print it.
